Use Your Email Signature

This is probably the easiest and most under used way to market your soy candles online. Make sure that your name and a link to your site is attached to every email you send or reply to. You can do this under your settings within your email account. Each time you send out an email you will be letting the world (or at least a few people) what you do.

Craft Forums

Connect with others on discussion forums. This is a great way to meet new people online. Don’t push your products, but make sure to add a link to your website in your signature. Check out the candle section on The Soap Dish Forum or check out Etsy, which is a great place to sell your products.

Create a Press Release

Announce your new products or candle services. Soy candles are a great ‘green’ product that may get the attention of mainstream media. Submit a free press release to: Przoom and Prlog. For a fee and more exposure submit a press release to PRWeb.

Use Pay-Per-Click

Sign up for Google Adwords or Yahoo Publisher to promote your products. This is the fastest way to get targeted traffic to your site. The only downfall is that it can be expensive.

Article Marketing

Write informative articles on soy candles and submit them to article directories. Be sure to add links back to your site in the author’s bio box. These articles will spread throughout the Internet and will lead people to your site. Submit your articles to Ezine Articles and Idea Marketers.

Create A Blog

Blogging is a great way to increase exposure and find people who are interested in your soy candles. I do not see many soy candle makers using blogs as a way to generate traffic to their sites. But, blogs have been proven to work well in other markets. Set up a blog with WordPress or Blogger.

Video

This is something we, at SoybeanSCENTS, will be exploring very soon. Create videos and post them on YouTube or on your website. Teach people how to make soy candles or how to start a soy candle business and drive them back to your site.

Flickr

Add your product photos to Flickr. This is a great way to increase exposure because you can allow people to use your pictures as long as you get credit for the picture (and there is a link going back to your site).

If you are not using the Internet to help you generate leads and sales, then I’d venture to say you are missing out on a lot of potential customers. Don’t let that happen. Start with a couple of the above ways to promote your soy candles and GO for it!
